Gulf Flour – Convertor Shell Internal TSA Lining

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Gulf Flour required an internal TSA application on a process convertor shell to provide long-term corrosion protection at elevated operating temperature. ACT mobilised to the Abu Dhabi site and delivered the full scope — internal access set-up, abrasive blast preparation of the shell internals to the specified profile, twin-wire arc TSA to ISO 2063, and a sealer to the engineered specification. Confined-space, ventilation and dust-extraction protocols were enforced throughout, and inspection holdpoints were cleared progressively with the client.

RESULTS & OUTCOME

Convertor shell handed back to Gulf Flour with a fully sprayed and sealed TSA internal liner ready for return to service.

  • Surface profile (Sa 2½ / specified anchor) confirmed before TSA application
  • TSA thickness within specification across the full shell internal area
  • Bond pull-off testing met ISO 2063 acceptance criteria
  • Sealer applied within recoat window with no defects logged
  • Confined-space safety and gas-monitoring protocols maintained — zero incidents
