Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring website, the pages you visit and the time and date of your visit. This information is collected through cookies and analytics tools (see Section 4, Cookies) and is used in anonymised or aggregated form to understand how our site is used and to improve it.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18.
3. Embedded Content
Pages on this site may include embedded content, such as videos. Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if you had visited the other website yourself.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. This includes tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website. We don’t control how these third parties use your data, so we recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the relevant websites.
4. Cookies
This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. Cookies generally exist to make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the help section of your browser.
5. Who Has Access To Your Data
If you are not a registered client for our site, there is no personal information we can retain or view regarding yourself.
If you are a client with a registered account, your personal information can be accessed by:
- Our system administrators.
6. Third Party Access to Your Data
We don’t share your data with third parties in any way that would reveal your personal information, such as your name or email address. The only exception is trusted service providers we work with to run this website and deliver the services you expect from us, such as hosting, analytics and email delivery. We share only the limited data each provider needs to perform its service, and we require them to keep it secure and confidential.
We may also disclose your personal data if we are legally required to, for example to comply with a court order or a request from a competent authority in the UAE.
7. How Long We Retain Your Data For
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected for, or as long as we’re required to by law.
- Enquiries and contact form submissions: kept for [24 months] from our last correspondence with you, then deleted, unless the enquiry leads to an ongoing business relationship.
- Registered client accounts: kept for as long as your account remains active. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except their username, which cannot be changed). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within [90 days], except data we must keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This lets us recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. You can ask us to remove a comment at any time.
- Newsletter subscriptions: [if applicable] kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time using the link in any of our emails.
- Analytics data: kept in line with the retention settings of our analytics provider, currently [14 months], after which it is automatically deleted.
- Legal and financial records: where we have a contractual relationship with you, related records such as invoices and contracts may be kept for longer where UAE law requires it.
When personal data is no longer needed, we securely delete it or anonymise it so it can no longer be linked to you.
8. Security Measures
We use SSL/HTTPS protocol throughout our site. This encrypts our user communications with the servers so that personally identifiable information is not captured/hijacked by third parties without authorization.
In case of a data breach, system administrators will immediately take all needed steps to ensure system integrity, will contact affected users and will attempt to reset passwords if needed.
9. Your Data Rights
General Rights
If you have a registered account on this website or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we retain, including any additional data you have provided to us.
You can also request that we erase any of the personal data we have stored. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. In short, we cannot erase data that is vital to you being an active customer (i.e. basic account information like an email address).
If you wish that all of your data is erased, we will no longer be able to offer any support or other product-related services to you.
GDPR Rights
Your privacy is critically important to us. Going forward with the GDPR we aim to support the GDPR standard. ACT permits residents of the European Union to use its Service. Therefore, it is the intent of ACT to comply with the European General Data Protection Regulation. For more details please see here: https://uaelegislation.gov.ae/en/legislations/1972/download
