PROJECT OVERVIEW
Asyad’s vessel underwent a major drydock refurbishment at Oman Drydock Company in Duqm, including full reblasting and recoating of cargo tanks and ballast tanks. ACT mobilised its Oman team to execute surface preparation and a multi-coat marine system on the tank internals — bottom plates, bulkheads, stiffeners and overheads. Work was managed under confined-space access and ventilation control, with all coats applied to specification and within recoat windows. Coordination with ODC trades and class surveyors was maintained at every inspection holdpoint.
RESULTS & OUTCOME
Cargo and ballast tanks redelivered to Asyad in full marine-coating compliance.
- Surface profile, soluble salts and humidity criteria met before each coat
- DFT readings within the specified range across every tank
- Class surveyor sign-off achieved on all blocks without rework
- Confined-space safety record maintained throughout — zero incidents
- Vessel released within the agreed drydock window
