PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Rosebank field, west of Shetland in the UK North Sea, is one of the largest undeveloped fields on the UK continental shelf, developed by Equinor through an FPSO solution. ACT delivered surface preparation, multi-coat blasting and coating, and Thermal Spray Aluminium on FPSO piping packages routed through Drydocks. TSA was specified for high-temperature service and Corrosion-Under-Insulation (CUI) protection on the relevant lines, applied via twin-wire arc spray to ISO 2063, followed by sealer. The scope demanded full traceability, NACE/SSPC compliance and class-recognised QA/QC documentation for every spool.
RESULTS & OUTCOME
Piping packages released to Drydocks fully prepared for offshore integration aboard the Rosebank FPSO.
- TSA thickness and bond pull-off values met ISO 2063 acceptance criteria
- Coating systems applied within environmental and recoat windows on every spool
- 100% holiday testing on coated lines, with all defects rectified before sign-off
- Pipe-by-pipe QA dossier handed over to Equinor’s representative
- Zero rework demanded by inspection at FPSO integration stage
