PROJECT OVERVIEW

ACT was engaged by Pact Engineering to undertake external pickling and passivation of stainless steel pipe spools associated with the QW223601 Mobile Desalination Safi-2 project. The supplied scope also references super duplex piping for a Jet A1 facility at Berth 2. The treatment involved chemical cleaning of external pipe surfaces to remove fabrication-related contamination and promote corrosion resistance. The work was undertaken at ACT Yard, Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah.

RESULTS & OUTCOME

The treatment scope was intended to improve the surface condition and corrosion resistance of the pipe spools for their intended operating environment.

• Removal of surface contamination and fabrication residues.
• External pickling and passivation of stainless steel pipe spools.
• Restoration of corrosion-resistant surface characteristics.
