Frequently Asked Questions
Our technicians are certified to IRATA Levels 1, 2 and 3. Every rope access team is led on site by an IRATA Level 3 supervisor, who directs the scope of work and is accountable for the safety of all personnel working under them. IRATA certification is the international benchmark specified by GCC operators for industrial rope access.
Rescue is planned and agreed before work begins. For every scope we prepare two documents: our standing rescue procedure, held within ACT's integrated management system, and a job-specific rescue plan written around the activities and access points of that particular scope. Both are submitted to the client for review and approval before mobilisation, so an agreed rescue arrangement is in place for the full duration of the works.
Rope access is the preferred method for inspecting and maintaining offshore structures, extended decks and industrial flare stacks where erecting traditional scaffolding is physically impossible, unsafe or cost-prohibitive. Using specialised dual-rope suspension systems, certified technicians can safely reach highly restricted or cantilevered areas with minimal set-up time. Where geometry, duration or the volume of work makes a fixed working platform the better option, scaffolding is the right choice — and because ACT supplies both, we recommend and deliver whichever method suits the scope.
On completion, ACT issues a work completion certificate, signed off by both parties. This is supported by the HSE and QA/QC records maintained for the scope throughout the works.
