PROJECT OVERVIEW
ACT undertook pickling, passivation and material re-marking of Alloy 400 (UNS N04400) sheets for Beacon & Bay. The scope involved chemical surface treatment of 1.57 mm thick alloy sheets, measuring approximately 7.95 m in length and 1.20 m in width. The treatment was intended to remove surface contamination and maintain the corrosion-resistant properties of the nickel-copper alloy. Material re-marking was included to preserve identification and traceability following treatment. The work was carried out at ACT Yard, Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah.
RESULTS & OUTCOME
The treatment was intended to provide clean, corrosion-resistant alloy surfaces while maintaining material identification and traceability.
- Removal of surface contaminants through controlled chemical treatment.
- Preservation of the inherent corrosion-resistant properties of Alloy 400.
- Re-marking of treated sheets for material identification.
- Preparation of treated material for subsequent fabrication or installation.
